1. What This Website Is

Catron County Criminal History is a private reference website, independent of all government offices. It does not maintain official records, submit filings, obtain records for visitors, or perform an official background check.

Its role is to identify the agencies and systems that hold Catron County records. Those sources include the Catron County Sheriff's Office, New Mexico courts, the New Mexico Department of Public Safety Law Enforcement Records Bureau and State Central Repository, and the New Mexico DPS Sex Offender Registry / OffenderWatch. Access to government records remains subject to laws such as the New Mexico Inspection of Public Records Act, NMSA 1978 §14-2-1, and the arrest-record dissemination rule in NMSA 1978 §29-10-6. Some pages also connect to outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use of the website is conditioned on avoiding each of the following acts:

• Using the service in violation of federal, New Mexico, or local law
• Stalking, threatening, or harassing a person with information obtained here
• Relying on website content for housing, hiring, lending, or insurance decisions
• Attempting unauthorized entry into any account, server, or restricted system
• Deploying scrapers, bots, or other automated collection methods on these pages
• Interfering with availability, performance, or another visitor's access

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No one may use information obtained here or through a linked service to stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, or discriminate against another person. Such conduct may also violate criminal law. This restriction is especially important for the New Mexico DPS Sex Offender Registry / OffenderWatch. New Mexico's Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act, including NMSA 1978 §29-11A-5.1 and related provisions, controls public registry disclosure and use. Registry information supports community safety awareness. It is not authority for vigilantism, employment blacklisting, or housing discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Catron County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. It creates no credit report, consumer report, or background check. The website and its advertising partners do not supply tools intended to evaluate job applicants, rental applications, insurance rates, or creditworthiness. Information from these pages or a linked tool must not be used to:

• Make an employment or termination decision
• Evaluate a renter or applicant for housing
• Set insurance terms or assess creditworthiness
• Decide eligibility for a license, permit, or public benefit
• Carry out any other FCRA-regulated purpose

A lawful check for one of those purposes must be obtained through the New Mexico Department of Public Safety Law Enforcement Records Bureau when its official process applies, or from an FCRA-compliant screening provider.

5. No Legal Advice

The material is general information, not legal advice. It may describe how records are handled in Catron County, but it cannot determine how a charge, conviction, warrant, or petition under New Mexico's Criminal Record Expungement Act applies to a particular person. A licensed New Mexico attorney can give advice about an individual matter.

6. No Warranties

All material and functions are supplied "as is." No promise is made that:

• Any item is complete, accurate, or current at the time it is read
• The website will remain available without delay or interruption
• The pages contain no defect, security weakness, or technical error
• An outside search service will return complete or correct results

Criminal records can change after charges are filed, reduced, dismissed, sealed, corrected, or expunged. Updates may not appear at the same time in every system. Website content must never be treated as an official statement from the Catron County Sheriff's Office, a New Mexico court, NMDPS LERB, or any other government agency.

Following a link opens a service outside this website's control. No responsibility is accepted for an external provider's content, data practices, fees, accuracy, or availability. Review that provider's own terms before proceeding.

Text, code, graphics, and logos appearing here are owned by Catron County Criminal History or its content partners. They may not be reproduced, altered, distributed, or used to create another work without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Catron County Criminal History disclaims liability for harm arising from use of the website, including reliance on material found here or through an external service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to hold Catron County Criminal History harmless from any claim, demand, or proceeding caused by your use of the website or breach of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

New Mexico law governs these terms. Any proceeding arising from use of the website must be brought in a court located in New Mexico.

14. Severability
